The Tale of Two Ladies and the Treadmill

I wonder if this is a typical gym scene.

During my half hour lunch break at work I usually sit in the cafe and people watch in the gym.  Two ladies, lets call them Madge and Marjorie (names have been changed to protect their identities) climb aboard the treadmills (after firstly dumping their bags at the foot of them, when they know they should be in a locker!).  Okay pretty familiar so far, quick start buttons are pressed and away they go, they seem to be walking at not a bad pace and have also increased their incline a little.  They are also having a pretty good conversation, as they are talking and walking quite happily.  And a couple of times the ladies let go of the hand rails to add some elaborate hand gestures in, the conversation must be getting good!  Obviously they are not working hard enough, if they were, they'd be struggling with their conversation.

So I'm about 20 minutes into my yummy mozzarella and tomato salad, riveted with my treadmill ladies when they stop.  Assuming that was probably there warm up, they'll be moving on to something else.  Alas no, the next 5 or so minutes was continuing on with the conversation, in a fairly relaxed mode now leaning on the treadmills.

Moral of the story, DON'T CHAT ON THE TREADMILL!  It's potentially dangerous and
un-productive.

By all means come to the gym with your friends, but do not let them be a distraction.  Use them for support and motivation, you'll both get a lot more from your workouts.

There's nothing wrong with a catch up and a coffee afterwards is their?
